National Queer & Trans Therapists of Color Network
Although I do not know that this is a non-profit, I chose this one off of a list of 10 Awesome LGBTQ Organizations You Should Support this Pride Month. Nothing is more important than being able to connect with a therapist and being able to identify with them because of how they look is so very important in the healing process. NQTTCN helps ensure that queer and trans people have those connections that can help save their lives.
It is because of the Fairness Campaign that we have some of the protections as gay folks in Kentucky that we have. They stand up for the right of Kentuckians who are often forced to navigate through “normal life” gingerly and with fear: immigrants, racial minorities, LGBT people, with a focus on transgender rights.
I don’t know too much about this place, but it is essentially a neighbor of ours and we need to go visit! Red Wolf Sanctuary is only about 20 minutes from the tipi. After checking out the website, I definitely want to make an appointment to visit.
Carolina Waterfowl Rescue: Another place that I found on Instagram, this group, Carolina Waterfowl Rescue helps snakes, birds, and even ponies. They are currently in need of donations for a particular pony with really neglected feet. Check them out and give them a hand and a dollar!
Ohio Alleycat Resource & Spay/Neuter Clinic (OAR): At OAR you can get your new pet kitty spayed or neutered for $20.00! Feral cats are free.
Ducks and Clucks: Ducks and Clucks was one of the first Instagram pages that I followed when we got the ducks. This person really gives their all and sets such high standards for a fowl rescue. They have an Amazon wish list that you can purchase items off of for their birds. Brownie, Dot, and Danny are my favorite residents!
Majestic Waterfowl Sanctuary : they have rescued some of the most adorable ducks I have ever laid my eyes on and inspired us to one day adopt as opposed to hatching. Ducks are people too! See: Dean, Crowley, and Marv on Instagram and of course, Majestic Majestic Waterfowl Sanctuary on Instagram
